If you didn’t already know, shared hosting sometimes presents challenges with mails not being sent or mails being spammed. If you’re in this situation or just want to improve the deliverability of your emails, follow the steps in this tutorial.
1. Check how spammy your mails are
Mail tester is an awesome tool that allows you to check how spammy your emails are. It gives you a score from 1 to 10; the higher your score, the better (less spammy) your email is. Follow the steps below to test out your email spamminess.
Step 1: Head over to Mail-Tester by clicking here.
Step 2: Copy the email address in Mail-Tester. Do not close the Mail-Tester tab.
Step 3: Compile the test email and send it to the email address you copied in Step 1.
Note: Type an email that you would normally send; refrain from random strings of text – this may lower your score.
Step 4: Go back to Mail-Tester and click on “Then check your score”
Step 5: After a few seconds, your score should appear and you will see detailed feedback below. If you have a low score, it may be an issue with your DKIM and SPF. Proceed to the section below if this is the case.
2. Ensure that your DKIM and SPF are valid in cPanel
Step 1: Log into cPanel. Refer to the tutorial on how to access panel if you are unsure.
Step 2: Search for “Deliverability” in the cPanel search bar and click on “Email Deliverability.”
Step 3: Click on “Manage.”
Step 4: Ensure that the DKIM, SPF and Reverse DNS are all valid. If not, please contact our support team by opening a ticket. Click here to open a support ticket.
